Anatomically designed and profiled specifically for youth and junior riders, the all-new SM3 Youth Helmet is optimized for MX, Enduro and off-road use and features a host of technologies and innovations drawn from Alpinestars’ adult helmet range to offer the optimal blend of performance, protection and comfort.

Main Features:

• Advanced Shell Construction: This helmet features a thermo-injected shell incorporating a special polymer blend enhanced with varying degrees of thickness, designed to offer the optimal combination of impact protection and light weight. The medium SM3 model weighs 1430g (ECE) and 1460g (DOT).
• Ventilation: Maximized ventilation and high levels of heat exchange thanks to 10 air intakes and seven exhaust ports.
• Rotational Acceleration Force Protection: Alpinestars' patented low-friction liner is applied to the inside of the main EPS liner to reduce rotational acceleration forces that can result from certain oblique impacts. This layer essentially acts as a slip plane to mimic the brain's low-friction cerebrospinal fluid, the body's natural defense against oblique impacts.
• Visor Release: The patented visor release system ensures that the visor is released with the correct amount of pre-determined force, effectively reducing the forces on the rider's neck during an impact.

Construction:

• The internal and external surfaces are designed to minimize the effects of oblique impacts.
• 5 internal EPS parts with 4 densities to effectively manage volume and impact performance.
• Hydration tube channels are integrated into the helmet's cheek pads for convenience and performance.
• The comfort lining is made using recycled materials for a smaller carbon footprint.
• The fit can be adapted to the rider's head thanks to the helmet shell and cheek pads, available as original spare parts in different thicknesses.

Protection:

• Alpinestars has introduced a new internal standard for the SM3 helmet to test the chin area of the helmet under more stringent conditions than the homologation standard, and to exceed Alpinestars' new standards, the shell thickness and the structure of the helmet design itself have both been optimized in the chin area for superior impact performance.
• The internal and external surfaces are designed to minimize the effects of oblique impacts.
• Featuring an Emergency Release System and removable cheek pads to allow for safe and easy removal of the cheek pads while the helmet is still on, while 3D contoured foam ensures rider comfort.
• The soft fabric chin strap is 25mm for optimal safety and rider comfort.
• Stainless steel D-rings ensure a tight, secure fit.
• The SM3 helmet is both DOT certified and ECE 2206 approved for worldwide use.
